GILLIAN HORAN, CEO, THE PUDDING

Gillian is one of Ireland’s leading authorities on brand strategy. She has been responsible for a number of significant rebrands in the Irish marketplace and beyond. Gillian has advised a range of corporate and private equity groups on how best to reposition and commercially leverage their brand to drive revenue and growth. Some of her key clients include Smyths Toys, Norbook Pharmaceuticals, Renatus, Nursing Homes Ireland, Sheraton US, Carton House, Conrad Dublin, PREM Group, InterContinental and the Irish Hospitality Institute. Gillian spent 12 years lecturing in Branding, Marketing and Entrepreneurship in one of the leading hospitality colleges, the Shannon College of Hotel Management. She is a Non-Executive Board member at General Paints/ Colourtrend. She has also served as a Board Member of the Institute of Management Consultants and Advisors (IMCA).

DAVID HAIGH, CEO, BRAND FINANCE

David is the CEO and founder of Brand Finance plc. David qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers in London, graduated from Bristol University with an English degree, and obtained a Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. David has worked in the area of branded business, brand and intangible asset valuation since 1991. He specialised entirely in the field after becoming the Director of Brand Valuation for Interbrand in 1995. David, subsequently, left Interbrand in 1996 to launch Brand Finance. David has been involved in many projects over the years, and has an extensive client list which includes notable names such as: Shell, Vodafone, BT, Orange, SABMiller and Barclays.

BREEGE O’DONOGHUE – CHAIR OF DESIGN & CRAFTS OF IRELAND

Breege O’Donoghue is Chair of Design & Crafts Council of Ireland. She is a Non-Executive Director of C&C and Shaws & Sons Ltd. She has worked with Primark for over 37 years. Until recently, she was Group Director for Business Development & New Markets, guiding Primark through significant growth. Breege has held Board positions with An Post, Aer Rianta, and the Labour Relations Commission. She was a Member of the National Executive of IBEC and the first Chairperson of Retail Ireland. Breege has 17 years experience in tourism as Board Member and Chairperson of the Shannon College of Hotel Management. Awards include Irish Times Top 1000 Distinguished Leaders in Business (2019), UCD Business-Smurfit Patrons of Excellence (2017), Chevalier of The Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur presented by President François Hollande (2016), Iconic Businesswomen of the Decade’ at the Women Economic Forum (2016) and DIT Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy (2016) to name a few.

TOMMY MURRAY – CHAIR OF GENERAL PAINTS/ COLOURTREND

Tommy has an engineering background and has over 40 years’ experience working extensively in the beverage industry with Gilbeys, Baileys, Grand Metropolitan & Diageo Plc. During this time he held senior management positions in General Management, Production, Operations, Supply Chain Management and Innovation/New Product Development. Tommy is an experienced Board Executive currently working with organisations across multiple sectors, he has been heavily involved in the management of various integration programmes both domestically and internationally. Tommy is currently the Chairman at General Paints/ Colourtrend (Ireland’s leading decorative paint brand) and Neylons (national provider of contract facility management).

Richard Curran is a journalist, broadcaster and author. He is the presenter of The Business radio show on RTE Radio One and also Dragons Den on RTE Television. He is a columnist with the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent. Richard has been a business journalist for 25 years and is a former deputy editor of The Sunday Business Post and former business editor of the Irish Independent. He has co-written two books, one on Irish entrepreneurs and the other on the collapse of Irish Nationwide Building Society. He has also made several television documentaries for RTE including, Future Shock: Property Crash in 2007 and The Battle For Rural Ireland in 2015.
