Brand strategist / planner


We are looking for a mid-level brand strategist/ planner to join our team. Are you fascinated by understanding businesses and how brand/ marketing can impact their bottom line? This role will involve applying strategic and analytical-thinking to solve challenging brand issues for clients.

  • Research, analyse and summarise insights from a broad array of inputs (e.g., client documents, research, best practices, market trends) to identify brand opportunities.

  • Carry out customer research, partnering with specialists as appropriate. Conduct in-depth interviews with client management and key stakeholders. Identify insights and make recommendations to help achieve brand/ business objectives.

  • Consult and advise on a range of brand topics from brand strategy and messaging to brand implementation and marketing campaign execution.

  • Translate client objectives into actionable and measurable brand activation/ marketing plans. Own the development of detailed project work plans to deliver integrated marketing campaigns. Define key performance indicators. Create reports and dashboards to measure results.

  • Collaborate with other consultants and creatives to explore concepts and brand/ marketing solutions (e.g. informal
    brainstorming sessions, research best practices). Manage and drive projects through to completion.

  • Structure and write clear and compelling documents and reports (proposals, marketing collateral, client presentations, proposal responses, case studies etc.)

  • Partner with client contacts to develop trusted relationships based on a track record of delivery. Lead discussions and manage expectations to ensure effective project communication at all times.


  • At least 3-5 years working in a management consulting or brand/ marketing/ market research agency role. Or equivalent mid-level marketing experience.

  • BA in business, economics, marketing or communications.

  • Obsessed with understanding businesses – specifically solving business challenges through great branding/ marketing.

  • You must be a team-player. There are no egos in The Pudding.


  • Natural ability to connect dots and understand client/ business implications. Commercially curious with a passion for being at the leading edge of brands and marketing.

  • Willing to challenge yourself and collaborate with others to deliver outstanding client work. Open to exploring alternative

  • Outstanding communication skills. Passion for writing and editing great copy. Excellent attention to detail.

  • Addicted to watching brand strategy trends and innovation (e.g. campaigns, media etc.)

  • Driven and ambitious with a can-do attitude.

  • Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • A growth mindset. Willingness to own problems. A desire to make things better.


We’d love if you had deep expertise in at least 4 of the following areas:

  • Qualitative and quantitative research (market and customer)

  • Brand strategy

  • Content strategy development

  • Content/ copywriting

  • Channel specialisms; email marketing, web UX/UI, online advertising, media buying, social media, traditional media

  • Marketing campaign execution

  • Analytics/ setting and measuring brand/ achieving marketing KPIs

  • Customer experience/ journey mapping

  • Project and/ or client account management

  • Writing creative briefs

  • Responding to proposals/ bids

  • Creating and delivering pitch presentations
